SPRING 2004 COMMENCEMENT, KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
 
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will hold Spring 2004 commencement exercises on Saturday, May 15 for more than 1,300 students.

Ceremonies for the nine academic colleges and Graduate School will be held throughout the day at the Cajundome and the Convention Center Exhibit Hall (first floor) and the Convention Center Festival Ballroom (second floor). The graduation schedule and keynote speakers for UL Lafayette is as follows:

Cajundome

9 a.m. ...................College of General Studies. Keynote speaker is Charles Triche, director of Edith Garland Dupré Library at UL Lafayette.

12 noon. ...............College of Liberal Arts. Keynote speaker is Richard Cusimano, former dean of Liberal Arts who was recently honored as a Distinguished Professor by the UL Lafayette Foundation.

3 p.m. ...................B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration. Keynote speaker is Joey Durel, city-parish president for Lafayette.

5:30 p.m................Graduate School. An honorary degree will be awarded to local businessman Robert Trahan during ceremonies and the UL Lafayette Wind Ensemble will perform.

Convention Center Exhibit Hall (first floor)

9 a.m. ...................College of Nursing and Allied Health Services.

12 noon. ...............College of Education. Keynote speaker is Brandi Lancon of New Iberia. Lancon is one of three 4.0 graduates in Education. She is an elementary education major.

3 p.m. ...................College of Engineering. Keynote speaker is Bill Vidacovich, vice president for Acadian Ambulance.

Convention Center Festival Ballroom (second floor)

9 a.m. ...................College of Applied Life Sciences. Keynote speaker is Erin Dugas, the college’s Outstanding Graduate. Dugas is from New Iberia and is a child and family studies major.

12 noon ................College of the Arts. Faculty members Andrea Loewy and Yuling Huang will perform a musical piece.

3 p.m. ...................College of the Sciences. Keynote speaker is Robyn Deranger, the college’s Outstanding Graduate. Deranger is from Opelousas and is a biology major.
