The Center for Louisiana Studies at UL Lafayette will host its first Holiday Book Signing and Gift Bazaar on Dec. 11 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Alumni Center on St. Mary Boulevard.

Several authors including the state’s newest Poet Laureate Darrell Bourque will sign and discuss their latest books. In addition, a wide selection of Ragin’ Cajuns and other gift merchandise will be sold. Holiday food and music will be showcased as well.

Available limited-edition books and clearance titles with prices starting at $1 will be available as well. Special discounts will be offered for all UL Lafayette employees, students and alumni.

This free-admission event is open to the public.

Authors scheduled to appear include: Barry Jean Ancelet and Philip Gould, coauthors of One Generation at a Time; Carl Brasseaux, author of Scattered to the Wind; Darrell Bourque, author of The Blue Boat; Henry Robertson, author of the Emergence of Whig Party in Louisiana, 1828-1840; May Waggoner, author of Le Plus Beau Pais du Monde; Fred Daspit, author of the Louisiana Architecture series; and Ray Brassieur and Greg Guirard, coauthors of Inherit the Atchafalaya.
