The UL Lafayette Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Michael Blaney will present a free concert featuring student soloists and guest strings on March 15 at 7:30 p.m., in Angelle Hall Auditorium.

Featured UL Lafayette student soloists include Lauren Wong performing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, Pamela Rodrigue performing MacDowell’s Piano Concerto No. 2, soprano Sasha Massey singing "My Man's Gone Now" from Porgy and Bess, and flutist Roldon Brown featured in Doppler's Fantisie Pastorale Hongroise.

Over 80 pre-college string players from throughout Louisiana will also join forces with the UL Lafayette Symphony to perform the Holst Brook Green Suite and Allegro in D by Vivaldi. The evening will conclude with the popular and energetic Jupiter from The Planets by Gustav Holst.

For more information, call the UL Lafayette School of Music at (337) 482-6012.
