The Rose EnsembleThe Rose Ensemble, one of the countries top vocal groups, will perform Friday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church. The UL Lafayette Concert Series is sponsoring the concert.

All UL Lafayette students, faculty and staff will be admitted free. General admission is $10. Secondary school students and seniors are $5.

The Rose Ensemble brings research from the world’s manuscript libraries to American audiences, illuminating rarely-performed vocal repertoire and recreating ancient melodies with period instruments. The Rose Ensemble also presents interactive workshops for students of all ages, using traditional songs and instruments to tell stories of key moments in history and connect participants to the past worlds, which shaped the present.

Now in its 12th performance season, the Ensemble tours internationally and is the recipient of the 2005 Chorus America Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence as well as the winner of the 2007 Tolosa International Choral Competition (Spain).
