UL LAFAYETTE HOSTS ACADEMIC SIGNING DAY IN NEW IBERIA
14 seniors at Catholic High sign letters of intent

Graduating seniors from Catholic High School in New Iberia signed letters of “intent” to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette on Friday morning. This Academic Signing Day is a second for UL Lafayette and is designed to showcase students and highlight their academic achievements during high school.

“ Following the theme of National Signing Day for athletes, we’ve begun to host academic signings to recognize students who have excelled academically by having them indicate their intent to enroll at UL Lafayette,” said Chip Jackson, director of Enrollment Services.

At Catholic High, 14 students signed letters of intent and UL Lafayette scholarship offers. Plans are being finalized for more signings at area high schools.

The students will receive $42,000 in scholarships at UL Lafayette. Some of these scholarships include the Centennial Scholarship, the Academic Excellence Scholarship and the Distinguished Freshman Scholarship.
