HOMECOMING 2009 TENNIS TOURNAMENT OCT. 23
 
LAFAYETTE- The UL Lafayette Alumni Association will hold its annual tennis tournament on Oct. 23 as part of the 2009 Homecoming festivities. The tournament will be held at Red Lerille’s.

Registration for the tournament begins at 7:30 a.m., with matches set to start at 8 a.m. Entry fees are $50 per team and $25 per person and include lunch, refreshments and a T-shirt for each player. Prizes will be awarded to each member of the first, second and third place teams. The tournament will benefit the Marty Bourg Scholarship Fund and alumni programs that support the university.

The format is mixed doubles, best two of three sets, no add scoring, and third set is a 10-point tiebreaker. Players will play a minimum of three matches. This is an all day event and everyone is invited to participate.

Tournament sponsors include Red Lerille’s, Kentwood Springs Water, Home Bank and Albertson’s Food and Drug.

Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns will take on Florida Atlantic for Homecoming 2009 on Oct. 24. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Cajun Field.
