Sign Up Now for CajunCodeFest Competition

The Center for Business and Information Technologies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is seeking innovative thinkers to take part in CajunCodeFest 2.0.

The theme of CajunCodeFest 2.0, which will take place April 24-26 at the Cajundome, is “Own Your Own Health.”

Registration is under way for software developers, designers and engineers; undergraduate and graduate students; physicians and others employed in the health care industry; educators; scientists; entrepreneurs and other professionals.

The coding competition focuses on converting data that can be used to address health care issues. CajunCodeFest 2.0 also includes three days of networking and talks about cutting-edge issues in health care technology.

For the 27-hour coding marathon, teams are tasked with building new tools to improve health care.

First place will bring a $25,000 cash prize and an automatic entry to the invitation-only National Health Datapalooza that will take place June 3-4 in Washington, D.C. Additional prizes of cash and services will be announced in coming weeks as sponsors are confirmed.

CajunCodeFest 2.0 seeks health care solutions by capitalizing on Lafayette’s entrepreneurial culture, fiber optic infrastructure and network of health care providers to lead technology innovation for issues such as aging, emergency medicine, childhood obesity and workplace health.

All CajunCodeFest 2.0 participants and attendees must register. Registration is free, but limited to 250 participants. To register, visit www.cajuncodefest.org. For more information, email info@cajuncodefest.org or call (337) 482-0627.
