Festival Supports College of the Arts

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Festival of the Arts 2013 will feature events such as exhibits, an art walk, fashion show, demonstrations, talks and a career day for architecture students.

The festival will take place March 7 - 15 at several places, including Fletcher Hall on the UL Lafayette campus and the Acadiana Center for the Arts in downtown Lafayette.

ArTech Fusion 13, the official kickoff event for Festival of the Arts 2013, will take place at 6:30 p.m. on March 8 at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. Faculty, students and community members will present music, animation, poetry, traditional music, dance, fine art and film performances featuring elements of technology.

Ray McIntyre Jr., a visual digital effects artist and supervisor at Pixel Magic at UL Lafayette’s Lite Center, will receive the College of the Arts’ Spark Lifetime Achievement Award at ArTech Fusion 13.

Thirteen works from professors in the Department of Visual Arts will be included in a faculty portfolio raffle as well. The raffle is a fundraiser for the UL Lafayette College of the Arts. Works will on display through March 8 in Fletcher Hall, Room 202.

Raffle tickets are $5 and will be on sale at ArTech Fusion 13 or during business hours in Fletcher Hall, Room 205.

Tickets for ArTech Fusion 13 are $5 for UL Lafayette students, $10 for faculty and $20 for the public.
