To provide an accurate cost estimate, especially for  printed or offset work, specific information will be  needed. This includes:
Number of pages to be printed
      Number of copies
      Type of paper
      Typesetting required
      Folding required
      Type of binding
Specific instructions for color, if appropriate

Quotations are based on the specifications given at the time the job is ordered. Any additions, deletions or changes after the final proof is approved will affect the final price. Please contact Printing Services for further quotation information (337) 482-6341.

Departmental orders are transferred through the University and proceeds by account number. Your Printing Requisition with our cost estimate is forwarded to the Office of Business Services for final fund approval. Work does not begin on your job until this approval is returned to Printing Services. A copy of this final and completed Printing Requisition is provided to your department when completed materials are delivered or picked up.

For printing required by individual faculty or staff, or student organizations not having a University account, a convenient form is provided by Printing Services. Work will begin upon completion of this form; the total dollar amount is required prior to the beginning of work of this type.

To control the actual cost of a printing job, the customer may wish to bear in mind these points:

    1. Knowing ahead of time exactly what you want is the key, practical planning is essential.

    2. You can be assured of meeting your deadline without worries by planning a realistic schedule. If you are not certain of how to schedule a specific printing job, give us a call for exact printing schedules.

    3. Take advantage of considerable savings by planning to use one color printing and standard sized stock paper. We'll be happy to provide you with other cost saving ideas; just give us a call.

    4. One of the best ways to keep printing costs down, is to have all editorial changes and corrections completed BEFORE the job is sent to be typeset. Any subsequent corrections or changes incur additional cost.

    5. It is the customer's sole responsibility to sign off on a corrected proof. Thorough proofing should be taken seriously and is a necessity to avoid costly reruns and delays.

    6. An important tip is to get a maximum press run the first time; this saves time and money. Produce as many copies of your job as you will need. Once the press is set up, the ink mixed, the paper ordered, etc., it is considerably less expensive to print multiple copies at one time than to run just a few with the intention of printing more in the future.
